The International 2015 Awards

About a month ago this years version of TI ended with EG proudly lifting the aegis. But is it right that they should be the only ones getting an awards after such an amazing tournament? We here at LiquidDota certainly don’t think so. Therefore we decided to, yet again, hand out awards to the players and teams of TI5!

As the post-TI5 roster shuffles begin to calm down and teams settle in to practice before the tournament season begins, I had the chance to speak with Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling about his team and new organization Digital Chaos, Majors, the drive to be the best and of course, Techies. You put together this new roster yourself, why did you go with Digital Chaos as your organization? The reason that we picked Digital Chaos over anyone else is because they sort of have a new model for teams and players in Dota. It’s more of a revenue share model. So how old teams would work in Dota 2 is that teams would give players a salary and that’s all.

The MLG World Finals in New Orleans will not only be a collosal event on the Dota 2 calendar, but also MLG’s 100th event, and as such has been blessed with a $250,000 base prize pool. Considering the prestige and scale of the event, six teams will receive a direct invite, with two slots left for the victors of the qualifiers. Based off an incredible performance at TI5 and previous seasons, MVP.Phoenix will be the first direct invite.
MVP.Phoenix made history at TI5 to become the only Korean team to ever finish in the top 8, after defeating former TI champions
Newbee and the victors of the first joinDOTA MLG Pro League,
Team Empire. Despite talk of roster changes, both March and QO committed to the future of a team that is transforming the Korean Dota 2 scene.

If like myself you found yourself rewarded with an Immortal item that you were not particularly fond of, you will be happy to know that those items are now tradeable! However, approach the market with caution as it may be flooded and the best bet may be to simply start hunting through your Compendium-junkie friends for who has the Immortals you want.
